CCTV Privacy Notice

Last Updated: May 2026

At Dai-KOR, we take the privacy and security of our visitors, staff, and clients seriously. This CCTV Privacy Notice explains why we use closed-circuit television (CCTV), how we protect your data, and what your rights are regarding the recorded footage.

1. Who We Are (The Data Controller)

Dai-KOR is the "Data Controller" for the images captured by our CCTV system.

If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle CCTV data, you can contact us at:

  • Email: info@dai-kor.com

  • Address: 7 Luke Street London EC2A 4PX

2. Why We Use CCTV (Lawful Basis)

We operate CCTV cameras around our premises for specific, legitimate reasons. Under data protection law, our lawful basis for processing this data is our legitimate interests.

Our specific purposes include:

  • Ensuring the personal safety of our staff, visitors, and clients.

  • Protecting our property, buildings, and assets from theft, vandalism, or damage.

  • Assisting law enforcement agencies in the prevention, detection, and prosecution of criminal activity.

Note: We do not use CCTV to routinely monitor employee performance, and our cameras are strictly positioned to avoid private areas such as restrooms, changing rooms, or break rooms.

3. Camera Locations

Our cameras are strategically placed at entry and exit points, perimeter walls, and high-value internal areas. Clear warning signs are displayed at the boundaries of our monitored zones to alert you before you enter an area covered by CCTV.

4. Who Has Access to the Footage?

Recorded footage is stored securely and access is strictly controlled. Images can only be viewed by authorized personnel who require access to fulfill the purposes listed in Section 2 (such as our management or security team).

We will never sell or rent your CCTV data. We will only share footage with third parties under the following circumstances:

  • Law Enforcement: When requested by the police or other legal authorities to investigate a crime.

  • Legal Proceedings: When necessary to exercise, establish, or defend our legal rights.

  • Insurance: With our insurers or legal advisors in the event of an incident or claim.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data (Retention)

We only keep CCTV footage for as long as necessary.

  • Images are automatically overwritten after 30 days, unless they are required for an ongoing legal investigation or insurance claim.

  • Once the retention period expires, the data is permanently and securely deleted.

6. Your Rights & How to Request Footage

Under data protection law, you have the right to request a copy of the CCTV footage that features you. This is known as a Subject Access Request (SAR).

To help us find the footage quickly, your request should include:

  1. The specific date and approximate time you were on the premises.

  2. The specific location or camera angle (e.g., "The main entrance foyer").

  3. A recent photograph of yourself so our team can accurately identify you in the footage and protect the privacy of others.

To submit a request, please email info@dai-kor.com with the subject line "CCTV Subject Access Request". We will respond to your request within one calendar month, free of charge.

Note: If providing the footage would compromise the privacy of other individuals, we may need to redact or blur their faces before releasing it to you.

7. Lodging a Complaint

If you believe Dai-KOR has handled your CCTV data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection regulator:

  • In the UK: The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
